
Heavy Metal Summer Experience Camp
Your chance to discover the trades!
Join us for this one-of-a-kind summer camp experience from June 2 to June 6, 2025!
The Heavy Metal Summer Experience (HMSE) is a FREE 30-hour program designed to introduce union and trades careers to Fall 2025 high school junior and senior students. This program is open to all Metro Nashville Public School Students.
Through training sessions led by craft professionals, students will explore the basics of the sheet metal, electrical, piping, and plumbing trades. Beyond education, participants will have the opportunity to learn 1:1 from local employers, receive a free tool set, work boots, and other swag for participating.
Hosted by the Tennessee Titans with onsite instruction at the NEW Nissan Stadium project!
Who should apply:
MNPS rising juniors and seniors (transportation from drop-off/pick-up points will be provided by MNPS and is only available to MNPS students)
Students with some or no experience in the construction industry
Students curious about careers in the skilled trades
Students curious about training opportunities through the unions
What students will learn & do:
Explore and experiment with many different hands-on construction and skilled trades activities.
Take a field trip to an active, large-scale commercial construction site (the new NISSAN Stadium)
Engage with industry professionals and learn about careers and training opportunities in the Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing, and Pipefitting), and Sheet Metal industries.
Camp schedule & locations:
Camp runs 8:30 – 2:30 daily, with drop-off no later than 8:15 and pick-up no later than 3:00 p.m.
Drop off and pick up will be at the Nashville Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee’s Center - 310 Fesslers Lane, Nashville, TN 37210.
Day 1: Nissan Stadium Project Site
Day 2: Sheet Metal
Day 3: Plumbers and Pipefitters
Day 4: NEJATC
Day 5: Nissan Stadium Project Site (Graduation will be held from 1:30 – 2:30, and parents will be invited to attend and pick students up from this location).
What students will receive at graduation:
